Melbourne's Thai Culture and Food Festival has been going for a couple of years now with ever increasing crowds drawn to the event. With more and more Australians travelling to Thailand each year it's no wonder that the festival has wide appeal. And with many Australian travellers now no longer willing to travel to Bali, Thai destinations now lure Aussie holiday makers like never before.
Key points about this Thai Festival:
- First held in 2004.
- Held at Federation Square, Melbourne.
- Open from 10am to 9pm.
- Entry is FREE.
- The Patron is His Excellency Bandhit Sotipalalit, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia.
- It's organised by the Thai Culture and Food Festival Inc, a not-for-profit Association incorporated in Victoria.
Throughout the day there are a number of events and demonstrations highlighting Thai culture and cooking as you would expect. From the Beauty Contest and Thai dance performances to the hardcore Thai Kickboxing displays there is something for everyone.
